Description

A vintage porcelain set of five guest tea cups with lids. The surface of the bodies and lids is covered with a continuous carpet pattern of golden-green chrysanthemums interwoven with a strict geometric ornament. The lids help to retain the aroma and temperature of the drink for longer during a traditional reception.

Marks

The foot of the cups bears an underglaze maker's mark in the form of a red shaped cartouche with the characters “Kutani” (九谷).
