Description

A collectible hand-formed tsutsu-hanaireTsutsu-hanaire 筒花入 — a strict cylindrical vase (lit. “tube vase”), created within the canons of tea aesthetics for ikebana arrangements. vase, made in a strict tea aesthetic of wabi-sabiWabi-sabi 侘寂 — a key Japanese aesthetic concept that prescribes valuing true beauty in its transience, incompleteness and noble imperfection (asymmetry, traces of time, roughness of texture).. The piece underwent a long high-temperature firing without artificial glaze. Its chief merit is the expressive decorative tobibashi effect — random fire marks from direct contact with the flame — as well as a striking ochre-mustard run of fused wood ash on the rim of the neck. The piece is of great collecting value to connoisseurs of the tea art and ikebana masters.
