Description

An intimate landscape executed in the best traditions of European impressionism. The composition is built around a panoramic view of a calm expanse of water, in which the coastal thickets and two monumental silhouettes of poplars are softly reflected. The textured impasto brushstroke and a rich palette of green and silvery-gray shades masterfully convey the vibration of light on the water, creating a sense of quiet midday calm.

Marks and presentation

In the lower right corner — the artist’s monogram in Latin letters “m.”. On the reverse of the canvas — the artist’s original authenticating signature; on the edge of the stretcher the artist’s title of the work is written in ink. The painting is framed in a classic deep frame with a fabric mat.
