Thin-walled, pure white porcelain; underglaze and overglaze polychrome painting, gilding.

Height — 19 cm.

An elegant cabinet vase of soft spherical form with a gently widening neck. Against the flawless white ground of the porcelain unfolds an airy, almost watercolour-like composition of blooming wild spring orchids. The gradations on the petals are rendered in muted pastel tones, and the stems are delicately picked out in liquid gold. Marks: the base bears a double authentic mark — the underglaze graphic character “蘭” (Ran — Orchid) and the overglaze red square seal “保谷謹製” (Respectfully made by Hota / HOYA).
