Description

A collector's studio sake set by the noted master Shima Yukihiro (b. 1937). It includes a tokkuri flask of classic form and a guinomi cup. The pieces were thrown on the potter's wheel from local, iron-rich, dense clay and underwent a firing of several days with wood, which produced unique fire marks on the unglazed surfaces.

Marks

On the base of the flask — a clear, hand-incised maker's mark.
