Description

A premium gift set of five tea bowls in the festive Kumidashi-wan form, belonging to the artist's series “Yu-dayori” (“News from the Hot Springs”) and made in the highly demanding artistic concept of “Irogawari” — the creation of an ensemble of bowls, each covered with its own unrepeatable type of handmade flowing mineral glaze. The colour range embodies the natural palette of Japan: sky blue, bamboo green, pastel yellow, pink and coffee grey.

Marks

The lid of the wooden box bears an original calligraphic inscription in ink with the series title “Yu-dayori”, the set name “Irogawari ChawanChawan 茶碗 — the canonical deep bowl of the tea ceremony, used to prepare and drink powdered green matcha tea.”, the mention of the elite brand “陶庵” (Touan), and the impression of the personal seal of the head of the dynasty.
