Dimensions

Japanese standard SM canvas (22.7 × 15.8 cm).

Description

An intimate painting, the artist’s semi-abstract reinterpretation of the rhythms and structure of a modern metropolis. The color scheme is dominated by blue, azure and white planes, delicately complemented by strict graphic accents of yellow and red. The left part of the canvas is complicated by a vibrating web of thin vertical lines that create a sense of the dynamism of urban space.

Marks and presentation

On the reverse of the canvas is an original extended inscription in ink by the artist with the title of the work, the date (2002) and the artist’s status: “Member of the Nika-kai, Akio Kurokawa”. The original art gallery label has been preserved on the back panel. The painting is framed in an elegant museum-type white wooden frame with a gold inner edge.
